The GIANTS have smashed yet another membership record with the club quickly reaching 10,000 members for the 2018 season already; a 30% increase on the same time last year.
The club officially reached the milestone on Friday morning with 10,066 members signed up, five weeks faster than last year and 129 days before the GIANTS play the Western Bulldogs at UNSW Canberra Oval in round one.
The GIANTS have recorded year-on-year membership growth with a record 20,944 members signing up in 2017.
1223 people have already signed up as GIANTS AFLW Supporter members in 2018, with the 2017 league record of 1881 within sight.
GIANTS Chief Executive David Matthews said the club is excited by the growth already recorded ahead of the 2018 season.
“It’s wonderful to see so many people re-signing and joining for the first time and we look forward to that continuing in the coming months,” said Matthews.
“The GIANTS have grown rapidly in last 12 months with the addition of the AFLW team and GIANTS Netball to the family.
“Coming off back to back preliminary finals in the AFL, the club is in a strong position to continue to grow in 2018.
“With a blockbuster suite of games in both Sydney and Canberra next year, there’s no doubt this is an exciting time to be part of the GIANTS.”
Membership packages start from just $58 for adults and $27 for juniors, while AFLW Supporter Memberships are $50. There are a range of options, including Sydney and ACT specific memberships, three-game memberships and interstate memberships.
