Star midfielder Tom Green has been given the green light to play his first game of the season when the GIANTS take on the Demons at the MCG on Sunday afternoon.
The 24-year-old missed last weekend’s Opening Round win as he recovered from a pre-season calf injury, but has returned earlier than first anticipated to feature at the ‘G’ this weekend.
Green averaged 30.8 touches and 6.2 clearances last season and will further bolster the GIANTS’ engine room this weekend.
The midfield bull will feature alongside last week’s debutant James Leake, who has kept his spot in the side and will get his chance to play at the MCG for the first time on Sunday.
Green’s inclusion is the only change to the side, with Kieren Briggs ruled out with concussion.
As confirmed on Tuesday, Jesse Hogan (thumb) and Jake Stringer (hamstring) will miss through injury.
The GIANTS will take on the Demons at the MCG at 3:20pm on Sunday afternoon.
