GIANTS defender Matt Buntine will play his first game after 392 days on the sidelines when the GIANTS take on the Brisbane Lions in the NEAFL on Saturday.
The 24-year-old last appeared in the GIANTS’ round two
After suffering a right knee injury at training that required further investigation, Buntine missed the remainder of the season after scans revealed a far more serious pre-existing injury by way of a partially torn ACL.

“He trained really strongly over the last month and put together a really strong body of work,” he said.
“We can’t wait to see him rip in this weekend.”
Saturday’s game will also provide GIANTS fans with their first chance to see forward Brent Daniels in action.
The 19-year-old was selected with pick 27 of the 2017 NAB AFL Draft and had impressed during pre-season before being sidelined with a knee injury in late December.
“He hurt his meniscus, which is the shock absorber inside the knee, and there are two operative approaches,” Joyce said.
“One is to take the meniscus out but for certain tears wherever we can,
“He’s had his three and a bit months out, he’s trained really strongly.
“He’s a really nippy, agile player and he looks to have lost none of that
