One of the most treasured jumpers in GIANTS history will be passed onto the next generation in 2025, with GIANTS legend Phil Davis’ number one jumper to be given to young gun Harvey Thomas.
The club’s inaugural co-captain (alongside Callan Ward) and one of the most influential figures in the club’s history, Davis wore the number one jumper for every one of his 174 games across 12 seasons as a GIANT until his retirement at the end of the 2023 season.
Only ever worn by Davis until now, a new legacy for the iconic number one jumper will be forged by Thomas in 2025 and beyond.
The GIANTS Academy Player of the Year in 2023, Thomas will take over the mantle of the number one jumper following a brilliant debut season for the GIANTS in 2024.
One of the steals of the 2023 draft after being taken by the club with pick 59, Thomas played 22 games across his debut season in 2024 where his class, composure and toughness were on full display to quickly establish the teenager as a fan favourite of the Orange Army.
One of many of Thomas’ standout performances, the 19-year-old was recognised as the AFL’s Telstra Rising Star nominee in round 14 after a superb performance in the club’s win over Port Adelaide.
Making an immediate impact in his first season in orange and charcoal, the club is excited about what Thomas can produce in 2025 and beyond as he creates his own legacy with a special number in GIANTS history on his back.
