Three star GIANTS have been rewarded for outstanding individual seasons with selection in the 2023 All Australian squad.
After the GIANTS qualified for finals for the first time under new coach Adam Kingsley, captain Toby Greene, vice-captain Stephen Coniglio and young gun Tom Green have all been named in the 44-person All Australian squad.
Greene has had a career-best season in terms of goals kicked, slotting 60 goals across the home and away season to finish fourth in the Coleman Medal from 21 games. The inspirational skipper also ranked elite in disposals (17.9 per game) and marks (4.5) to firmly establish himself as one of the competition’s very best. Greene has previously been named in the All Australian team in 2016 and 2021.
Coniglio, who celebrated his 200th AFL game on Sunday evening, is also having a career-best year, averaging 28.3 touchers per game, ranking him 12th in the competition, to go along with 5.5 clearances and 4.7 tackles. The vice-captain also ranks inside the top 20 in inside-50s at 4.9 per game.
Green's selection comes after a starring season for the GIANTS in which the 22-year-old finished the home and away season as the competition’s leading average disposal-getter - averaging a career-high 32.1 disposals per game to go along with 6.1 clearances and 5.3 tackles
This is the first time both Coniglio and Green have been selected in the All Australian squad.
