The GIANTS will farewell Jodie Hicks, Sarah Halvorsen and Erin Todd as the club’s AFLW list for the upcoming 2021/22 season is finalised.
Hicks played 20 games across four seasons as a GIANT with the 24-year-old juggling her AFLW commitments alongside her duties representing the Sydney Sixers in the WBBL. The southern NSW product has decided to focus her attention on cricket at this stage of her career.
Halvorsen joined the club in 2020 and played four games across the past two seasons as a key forward. She is opting to give up football to travel in the immediate future.
A former WNBL player, Todd joined the GIANTS as a replacement player for Irishwoman Yvonne Bonner ahead of the 2021 season and made her debut in round one, playing two games for the season.
GIANTS Head of Women’s Football Briana Harvey thanked the trio for their contribution to the club.
"We thank Jodie, Sarah and Erin for all they’ve given the club,” she said.
“We congratulate them on the contribution they made to building and growing our club both on and off the field and wish them well in their future endeavors.”
Britt Tully has delisted herself from the club’s list as she weighs up returning to football for the upcoming season.
Tully told her teammates she was looking to step away from the game following the end of the season after a stellar career across 29 games and four seasons for the club.
After also stepping away from the competition in 2019, Tully will spend the next few months deciding whether she wants to continue with her career with the club to give the 28-year-old all the time she needs to decide.
Ruck Jessica Allan will remain on the GIANTS’ list in 2021/22 as an inactive player due to her commitments with the Australian Defence Force.
The club expects to announce player re-signings for the upcoming season in the next few days.
