Young draftee Conor Stone will become just the second player in GIANTS history to don the number 18 jumper when he runs out on the MCG on Saturday night.
Coach Leon Cameron has confirmed that the versatile draftee will make his AFL debut in the clash with Collingwood.
Earlier this week, leader Phil Davis described the number 15 draft pick on his podcast, The Footy Phil.
“He’s super polite, got a very ‘short back and sides’ haircut and the personality to match,” Davis said.
“He’s organised, polite and well mannered.
“I think one of his best traits is he’s very coachable and he wants to get better and improve and if you’ve got that kind of appetite then the world is generally your oyster.”
When drafted in December last year, National Recruiting Manager Adrian Caruso pointed to Stone’s versatility.
“A powerful and versatile player, we love his competitiveness and running ability,” Caruso said.
“We think he will develop into a player who can fill a few different roles.”
Davis also mentioned Stone’s power after spending the summer with him on the training track.
“He’s definitely someone who has an obscene amount of power, that’s probably the strength of his game,” he said.
“He’s very fast, he can take the game on and he’s a really nice kick.”
Stone is the club's third debutant of the season and the second of his draft class to debut, following in the footsteps of Tanner Bruhn.
The full team will be announced at 6:20pm on Friday.
