The GIANTS are delighted to announce the extension of Harvey Norman as the club’s Principal Partner for the AFLW program.
Harvey Norman has been connected to the GIANTS since 2015 and has been the major backer of the AFLW team since the competition’s inception in 2017.
The Harvey Norman brand has been synonymous with the ground-breaking AFLW program which sees the GIANTS represent all of New South Wales and the ACT in the national competition.
GIANTS fans have watched games in comfort from the Harvey Norman Hill and cheered on countless historic moments with the Harvey Norman logo taking pride of place on the front of the club’s AFLW jumper since day one.
Like the GIANTS, Harvey Norman has Unfinished Business in 2021 and are doing everything possible to help the club return to the AFLW finals.
The Unfinished Business content series, which commenced in December, has highlighted the determination and drive of the GIANTS’ AFLW team as they gear up for the 2021 season which gets underway in Perth on Sunday.
Speaking of the Unfinished Business campaign, GIANTS captain Alicia Eva says: “It drives commitment to our team, our club and our supporters. We are all in.”
To celebrate this partnership extension, Harvey Norman is rewarding GIANTS members with an exclusive VIG Preferred Partner Pricing Card that offers savings on products as well as the opportunity to enter the draw for a money can’t buy AFLW experience.
GIANTS Chief Executive David Matthews said the shared vision between Harvey Norman and the club made this an ideal partnership.
“Harvey Norman is a tremendous partner of the GIANTS are we are delighted to have them continue as Principal Partner of the AFLW program,” said Mr Matthews.
“Katie Page and the Harvey Norman team have been central to growing the game in this region, creating opportunities for young female athletes that now have a clear pathway from the grassroots to elite level sport.
“We look forward to this partnership continuing to grow for many years to come.”
Harvey Norman Chief Executive Katie Page has welcomed the partnership extension.
"Harvey Norman has been the proudest partners of the GIANTS for six years,” said Ms Page.
“Every season has seen the team grow in strength, depth of talent and popularity.
"Harvey Norman loves the commitment of the girls and their coaches. Watching them train and play to their limits - their drive to win.
“But the partnership isn't just about the competition, the past six years have worked because the GIANTS love their home base - Western Sydney. The GIANTS are thriving because they are equally committed to their fans and their local community.
"What last year taught us is no one wants to do this on their own. Like so many industries and community groups, COVID and the challenges of 2020 hit sport hard.
“AFLW games were played with limited crowds and the 2020 season cut short - the GIANTS consider 2020 'Unfinished Business.' Harvey Norman applauds the tenacity of the team and their coaches. It is tough living and playing away from home, but they know that is what it takes to compete - to win.
"We can't wait for their return home - to local fans and a home ground advantage. That will be its own victory.
"From all of us at Harvey Norman, good luck on Sunday and with the season ahead. Let every year be Unfinished Business."
The GIANTS open their 2021 AFLW campaign against Fremantle in Perth this Sunday at 4.10pm (AEDT).
