The second GIANTS club night was a resounding success in Blacktown with over 500 children and families from all over Western Sydney taking part.
Kids from local clubs including South West Tigers, South Campbelltown, Liverpool Eagles, Kellyville Magpies, Quakers Hill, Emu Plains and Ingleburn Magpies braved the cold and enjoyed the on field skills clinic with the GIANTS players.
Tom Scully, Israel Folau, Stephen Coniglio, Rhys Palmer, Kurt Aylett, Matt Buntine, Sam Darley, Rhys Cooyou, Toby Greene, Jack Hombsch, Anthony Miles, Tim Segrave, Liam Sumner, Adam Treloar and Mark Whiley signed autographs, handed out show bags and even lent a hand on the free barbeque thanks to Outback Steakhouse.
Almost 80 GIANTS club members took part in an exclusive mid year review run by Head Coach Kevin Sheedy and Senior Assistant Coach Mark Williams while over 60 local coaches enjoyed a coaching seminar run by Dean Brogan and Chad Cornes.
GIANTS Head Coach Kevin Sheedy said that nights like these are a great way for the club to engage with the Western Sydney Community.
“We are running a number of these nights this year with AFL NSW and we’ve been thrilled with the level of engagement so far.
“Even on a cold night like tonight in the middle of winter, there are over 500 people down here which is incredible to see.
“The kids are out having fun and brushing up on their skills and the parents are getting an exclusive insight in to how our club is run.
“We are a family club and events like these highlight our commitment to that,” Sheedy said.
