The Greater Western Sydney GIANTS are pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Stevens to the club's Board.

Mr Stevens is the Managing Director of IBM Australia and New Zealand, a position he has held since January 2011.

GIANTS Chairman Tony Shepherd welcomed him to the Board and said he would bring a wealth of business experience to the club.

"We are delighted that someone of Andrew's calibre is joining us. It's another resounding endorsement for the GIANTS and the positive direction the club is heading in," Shepherd said.

Mr Stevens said he was looking forward to joining the board and playing his part to help the GIANTS become a successful club on and off the field.

"I am pleased to have joined the GIANTS Board and look forward to playing my part in making the GIANTS a great club. There's no doubt the club has a very talented playing group that will set it up for long term success. It is also building a strong support base across NSW and ACT through its membership (nearly 10,500) and support from corporate Australia " said Mr Stevens.

He joined IBM in 2002 as part of IBM's acquisition of PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting (PwCC) business.  In 2009, after leading IBM's Global Business Services in Asia Pacific, Stevens was appointed Managing Partner for Global Business Services, Growth Markets. In that role, he was responsible for the strategic direction and operational management of IBM's consulting division for eight growth markets.

Mr Stevens holds several other Board positions and is also a member of the Australian School of Business Advisory Council as well as the Business Council of Australia. He is the Deputy Chairman of the National Board of the Australian Information Industry Association and serves on the Board of the Australian Chamber Orchestra.
