The Greater Western Sydney GIANTS have reached a major milestone in the growth of the club, officially signing 10,000 foundation members.

GIANTS CEO Dale Holmes praised the work of the supporters as well as his staff and players for their hard work and commitment to promoting the club throughout the community.

“This is a big achievement for us. We’re well aware that there is still a long way to go and we do have some big ambitions for the future. But to have 10,000 people already committing to the GIANTS and putting their hand up to say I support the club, that’s a great result.

“The passion from our supporters has been really inspiring. From a family of six that are just learning the game, right through to a mother and son who have travelled across the country to every game with us this year, they’re all getting behind their local club.

“We’ve had an outstanding response to our Junior Fan Club and I believe much of that is due to the work of our players out at schools and local Auskick clinics – they are incredible ambassadors for the club and for the game.”

The GIANTS are now preparing for the next big phase in the club’s short history with the NAB AFL Draft coming to Sydney, the start of the 2012 season just around the corner and the opening of the GIANTS redeveloped stadium at Sydney Showground, Homebush.

“The biggest benefit to our foundation members is that they will have priority access to secure seats with their family and friends in the best seats in the house at our new stadium.” said Holmes.

“Importantly it’s not too late to join the 10,000 GIANTS foundation members, but there is little time left to secure that coveted ‘foundation member’ status and truly say ‘I was there from the start’.”

To celebrate, the GIANTS want to thank our foundation members for their support with a celebration at our final home game of the season, Saturday August 27.
