The Greater Western Sydney GIANTS hosted their first AFL junior club night tonight at Blacktown International Sportspark.

Over 400 kids and families from football clubs across the Greater Western Sydney region joined GIANTS players, coaching staff and AFL NSW ACT staff tonight for a fun filled night of skills clinics, coaching seminars, autographs and a sausage sizzle thanks to Outback Steakhouse.

Kids from the Campbelltown Swans, Camden Blues, Penrith Swans, Rooty Hill Power, Holroyd Parramatta and Baulkham Hills attended the first club night for 2012.

GIANTS young gun and NAB AFL Rising Star nominee, Tom Bugg said that he has fond memories of his junior AFL Auskick clinics and club nights.

“I played my junior footy at Gembrook Cockatoo and we had nights like this, the BBQ afterwards was always a highlight for me.

“I remember just kicking the ball around and having a good time with my friends.

“There are a lot of kids down here and they all look like they’re having fun so it’s great to see.

“GMan came over here before and all the kids love him. They were giving him high fives when he walked over – I didn’t get any high fives.

“As long as they are being active and having fun it doesn’t matter who they are more excited to see.”
