The GIANTS have made just one change for their huge Gather Round clash with the Saints, with young gun Harvey Thomas entering Sunday’s side.
Thomas returns for his first AFL game of the season after strong form in the VFL, with the crafty half-forward earning an AFL call-up following a brilliant 20-disposal, three-goal game in the club’s big VFL win over Sandringham on Sunday.
Playing almost every game of the season last year in a brilliant debut campaign, Thomas shows maturity and composure well beyond his years, with the 19-year-old using his footy smarts and silky skills to continually make a strong impact when in Adam Kingsley’s side.
As confirmed by Kingsley earlier on Friday, vice-captain Stephen Coniglio (glute) and star small forward Brent Daniels (abdominal) will both miss the Gather Round clash through injury.
With both sides sitting at 3-1 following strong starts to the season, Sunday’s matchup between the GIANTS and the Saints looms as one of the weekend’s most exciting clashes as the footy world descends on South Australia for Gather Round.
The GIANTS and the Saints will clash at Norwood Oval on Sunday at 3:20pm AEST / 2:50pm ACST.
