It’s down to four teams and the preliminary finals editions of the AFL Record has in-depth analysis of the two big games.

The Record also looks at one of the great preliminary finals of all time - the 1987 classic between Hawthorn and Melbourne. Ashley Browne talks to key players from that game and explains how the Hawks pulled off a miraculous win.

This time of the year is also busy with awards and there is no bigger individual award than the Brownlow Medal. The Record’s team of experts preview the chances of the leading players from all 18 clubs.

The Brownlow Medal is also a chance to reflect on past winners and the Record’s Bruce Eva catches up with former South Melbourne star Peter Bedford, who won the first televised medal count in 1970.

There is also an important milestone this weekend and former teammates and opponents pay tribute to Sydney Swans warrior Jude Bolton, who plays his 300th game this week.

The 2012 Preliminary Final AFL Record will be on sale for $10 at both games. You can also purchase a copy from AFL Reception or call (03) 9643 1999.

And don't forget the AFL Record is now available on your iPad.
