Greater Western Sydney GIANTS Head Coach Leon Cameron says the club will do its due diligence on every player ahead of next month’s trade period.

The GIANTS are one of several club linked to Richmond’s Dustin Martin after a break down in contract talks between the midfielder and the Tigers.

Cameron says the GIANTS are looking at a range of experienced players to bolster the playing list.

“I think what happened yesterday would have all clubs looking out and saying why and where do we sit as a footy club in terms of gaining some mature age players,” Cameron told Melbourne radio station SEN.

“There’s no secret that we’re out to look to add some value in terms of mature players, and with yesterday’s happenings our club will go back and discuss some options and move forward from there.

“Whether it’s (Dustin) Martin or anyone else from another football club, we need to do our due diligence on field and off field,” he said.

Having recently taken over the Head Coaching role from Kevin Sheedy, Cameron says he’s looking forward to season 2014.

“We’re rapt with where we’re at (at the GIANTS), we’ve signed up about 95% of our players at our footy club with one or two to go, and we’ll continue to work on other players that might possibly join us from other clubs.”
