GIANTS’ number two draft pick Jono O’Rourke is available for selection this week after overcoming a hamstring injury.
The young GIANTS midfielder injured his hamstring against the Bombers in the NAB Cup but has recovered after four weeks on the sidelines.
In other good news for the GIANTS, wingman Will Hoskin-Elliott has quickly overcome a cork that sore him subbed off against the Swans in the Battle of the Bridge on Saturday night.
Hoskin-Elliott impressed with 19 disposals in the first three quarters before being replaced by Taylor Adams and is expected to be available to take on Port Adelaide this weekend.
While Lachie Whitfield and Lachie Plowman debutted against the Swans, pick number 14 Aidan Corr is also expected to press for selection and could feature in the GIANTS line up in the coming weeks.
Defender Matt Buntine continues to recover well from his punctured lung suffered in the opening match of the NAB Cup and is two weeks away from resuming, while Dom Tyson and Chad Cornes both continue to work towards a return from knee injuries.
