The Greater Western Sydney GIANTS have received pick 53 in next month’s NAB AFL Draft from Essendon in exchange for ruckman Jonathan Giles and pick 62.
Giles played 51 games and kicked 39 goals for the GIANTS over three seasons after joining the club via the 2011 Rookie Draft.
GIANTS List Manager Stephen Silvagni thanked Giles for his contribution to the club.
“Jon Giles has made an important contribution during the first three years of the GIANTS. He's made many friendships in Sydney and we wish him well for the future," Silvagni said.
As well as welcoming All Australian midfielder Ryan Griffen and two time Brisbane Best & Fairest winner Joel Patfull, the GIANTS have improved their draft position to currently hold picks 4, 6, 7, 24 (committed to Jack Steele), 40, 53, 80, 98 and 116 (committed to Jeremy Finlayson) at next month’s NAB AFL Draft.
