Star forward Toby Greene is the first player to accept the challenge to take part in Big Freeze 6 next month.
The annual Big Freeze event has become a crowd favourite on the Queen’s Birthday in recent years, with a host of sporting and media personalities taking the plunge into Australia’s most famous ice bath.
It’s all done in support of the FightMND cause with the footy community rallying behind the legendary Neale Daniher.
This event will be different to anything that’s happened in previous years due to the restrictions in place because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
One player from each of the 18 AFL clubs will take part from their home city this year, continuing the tradition of dressing up and taking the icy plunge for a good cause.
Greene, who was this year added to the GIANTS leadership group, was quick to put his hand up to help raise funds for this very worth charity.
The 26-year old has been known to ruffle the feathers of opposition supporters in years gone by so will no doubt be a popular figure to take on the challenge.
The crafty forward won’t have to travel too far to get some advice on how to approach the Big Freeze with GIANTS coach Leon Cameron experiencing the icy water two years ago.
With his focus firmly on the season resuming on June 14, Greene needs the help of the Orange Army to help select his costume.
What would you like to see him dress up as for the big event?
GIANTS fans are encouraged to send through their ideas to the club’s social media channels.
Founded in 2014, FightMND was established with the purpose of finding effective treatments and ultimately a cure for Motor Neurone Disease.
