The GIANTS would like to acknowledge the hardships being faced by our long term partner Virgin Australia with the airline entering voluntary administration due to COVID-19.
The club has formed a close relationship with the airline in recent years with the GIANTS flying more often than any other team in the AFL.
The GIANTS and Virgin Australia share many qualities with both organisations proudly challenger brands, taking on traditional brands in tough markets.
GIANTS Chief Executive David Matthews said that the Virgin Australia staff are at the forefront of everyone’s thoughts.
“The GIANTS and Virgin Australia have supported each other through many highs and lows in recent years and this will continue to be the case,” said Mr Matthews.
“Our players, staff and broader GIANTS family have always received wonderful service from Virgin Australia and we hope for this close relationship to continue for many years to come.
“The GIANTS encourage our suite of corporate partners, our fans and the wider community to continue to support Virgin Australia wherever possible during this tough period.”
The Virgin Australia logo was proudly displayed on the front of the jumper in the club’s historic Grand Final appearance in 2019 and will sit on the back of the GIANTS jumper for all games in 2020.
