He has only played 32 games but already Jeremy Cameron has the football world talking.
The 20 year-old’s performances in his short career so far compare favourably with some of the greats of the game. A glance at his numbers reveals:
- He has kicked 79 goals in his first 32 games, more than Matthew Lloyd, Wayne Carey, Lance Franklin and Jonathan Brown at the same stage of their careers
- Doug Wade (113), Tony Lockett (96) Jason Dunstall (84) and Gary Ablett (84) are the only players to sit in front of Cameron.
- This season, Cameron has kicked 50 goals to sit in equal third place in the race for the Coleman medal.
- His 50 goals have come in 16 games at an average of 3.125 goals per games which is also the third best goals per game ratio in the competition this season.
- Cameron’s accuracy in front of goal has also been outstanding, converting 64.9% of his chances. This rates as the second best in the league for all players who’ve kicked more than 35 goals this year. Only Geelong’s Tom Hawkins has a better goal kicking percentage, kicking his 43 majors at 72.9%.
- Cameron has taken 36 marks inside 50, putting him at 11th in the competition. He has kicked 50 of the GIANTS 172 goals this year, 29% of the teams tally.
