Forward Daniel Lloyd has been upgraded to the primary list with small forward Jarrod Pickett placed on the long-term injury list.
The 24-year-old Lloyd joined the GIANTS with pick 26 of the 2015 NAB AFL Rookie Draft after a stellar season for the Killarney Vale Bombers in New South Wales’ Black Diamond League on the Central Coast.
He was spotted by GIANTS Assistant Coach Mark McVeigh playing for the Bombers and invited to train at the club during pre-season before being offered a spot on the club’s rookie list.
A former scholarship holder with the Western Bulldogs, he is a powerful mid-sized forward who stands at 186cm and 88kg.
Lloyd has overcome some early season injury concerns to perform well for the WSU GIANTS in the NEAFL kicking 11 goals in seven games.
Lloyd’s stand out game this season came in the round nine loss to Aspley with the former carpenter kicking three goals, laying 14 tackles and gathering 29 disposals.
Pickett was the GIANTS first pick in the 2014 NAB AFL Draft and kicked 26 goals from 17 games in the NEAFL last year in his first year at the club.
The 19-year-old from Western Australia suffered a season ending foot injury in April.
