Summary: Playing every game besides one, 2015 was Lachie Whitfield’s most consistent season at AFL level. He averaged more disposals (21.7) then ever before and took his game to the next level playing predominantly on the wing. Whitfield seemed to put his injury concerns behind him, after having surgery on both his shoulder and foot last year. He continues to add class to the GIANTS’ midfield and his exceptional foot skills set the standard for his teammates. The former number 1 draft pick reached the 50 game milestone against Carlton, a match where he had 22 touches, six marks and five tackles.
Pat On The Back: After battling injury in 2014, Whitfield got his body right and enjoyed his career-best season.
What They Said: “This season has been a bit better because I’ve been able to string together games and found my feet and a bit of form. I’ve loved every bit of it. I love Sydney. I love the club. I’ll be here for a long time” - Lachie Whitfield.
Look Ahead: Entering his fourth pre-season campaign, Whitfield will benefit from another summer in the gym and will hopefully come out fit and firing in 2016.
