Kieren Briggs has been cleared of any serious damage to his neck but has entered concussion protocols following a heavy collision in the club’s Opening Round win against the Magpies on Sunday.
The GIANTS’ number one ruck was stretchered from the ground following the first quarter incident and was later sent to hospital for precautionary scans on his neck.
While scans cleared the 25-year-old of any neck injury, Briggs has since entered concussion protocols and won't be available for this Sunday’s match.
Phoenix Gothard has overcome an ankle sprain, but suffered a broken finger at training on Friday and will be sidelined for the next three weeks.
Meanwhile, Tom Green will be a test for this Sunday’s game against the Demons as he looks to return from a pre-season calf injury.
The GIANTS will travel to Melbourne for the first time this season to take on the Demons at the MCG on Sunday afternoon.
