The Greater Western Sydney GIANTS have thanked defender Tim Golds and rookie-listed midfielder Sam Schulz for their contribution to the club after both players were today delisted ahead of the AFL’s first list lodgement deadline.

Both players were part of the inaugural GIANTS squad with Golds playing six AFL games since joining the club as a priority selection in 2011.

Schulz, originally from Culcairn in Southern NSW, made one AFL appearance in 2012 and spent the last two seasons on the rookie-list.

GIANTS General Manager Football Graeme Allan has thanked both players for their commitment and dedication during their time with the club.

“Tim and Sam are fantastic young men who have made important contributions to our football club,” Mr Allan said.

“We thank both players for their efforts over their time at the GIANTS and wish them well in the future.”

Under AFL establishment rules, the GIANTS must reduce their list size ahead of the 2016 season.

As announced earlier this month, veteran Dylan Addison has retired after 93-games and has taken on the role of Welfare Manager at the club.

During the recent trade period, the following players found new homes: Curtly Hampton (Adelaide), Jacob Townsend (Richmond), Tomas Bugg (Melbourne), Andrew Phillips (Carlton), Jed Lamb (Carlton), Lachie Plowman (Carlton), Liam Sumner (Carlton) and Adam Treloar (Collingwood).

Former Geelong champion Steve Johnson and ruckman Dawson Simpson joined the club for the 2016 season.

The GIANTS currently hold selections 10, 34, 43, 53, 55, 58, 63, 64, 65, 70, 95 and 102 at next month’s NAB AFL Draft.
