GIANTS defender Tim Mohr will meet with a surgeon this week to determine the best course of action after re-rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee.

Mohr is facing a second bout of reconstructive surgery after injuring his knee in the second quarter of the UWS GIANTS' match at Spotless Stadium on Saturday.

It was just his sixth match back from injury after originally hurting his knee against Geelong in round 18, 2014.

The 26-year-old will consult with the GIANTS’ Athletic Performance staff to determine a rehabilitation program in the coming weeks.

In better news young draftee Jeremy Finlayson is set to play his first game since being selected by the club with pick 85 in the 2014 NAB AFL Draft.

Finlayson, a PM CAPITAL GIANTS Academy graduate, has spent six months on the sideline after having hip surgery in November.

GIANTS Head of Athletic Performance David Joyce said Finlayson had worked hard to overcome his injury.

“It will be exciting to see Jeremy pull on a GIANTS jumper this weekend,” Joyce said.

“He’s had a long road back from injury and it’s great to see him finally get an opportunity to play after working so hard.”

Ruckman Rory Lobb will undergo a fitness test later this week after suffering a concussion in the NEAFL.

There were no injuries to report from the GIANTS’ clash with Hawthorn at Spotless Stadium last Saturday.
