DAY 1
It’s been a tough few weeks on the track since the players returned for pre-season but our annual Noosa training camp will be another challenge altogether.
We touched down on the Sunshine Coast yesterday to hot and humid conditions, perfect weather for high intensity training.
Things kicked off early this morning at the Noosa Tigers Football Club and the boys were excited to train in a different environment under unique circumstances.
This trip is not just about becoming physically fitter and stronger, it’s also about developing leadership skills and bonding as a playing group.
It gives us a great opportunity to go into the Christmas break with a lot of positive momentum and hit the ground running in 2016.
On the first day it was pleasing to see our new draftees keep up with their more experienced teammates and hold their own on the track.
Jacob Hopper, Matt Kennedy, Harrison Himmelberg and Matt Flynn have made a seamless transition into our club and we expect them to maintain that high standard of training throughout the week.
At the other end of the scale our experienced campaigners continue to lead the way with their professionalism and intensity.
Watching players like Callan Ward and Ryan Griffen compete in tackling drills today really sets the standard for the entire group.
They inspire others to follow their example and give the younger guys something to strive for.
Today was a solid 2.5 hour training session followed by weights rotation and some boxing.
It was great to see some support from local fans and we appreciate everyone who came down to watch the session. Our fans mean everything to us.
Tonight the players will split up into smaller groups for dinner before having an early night ahead of the infamous Noosa beach session tomorrow.
Will touch base again tomorrow,
