Speedy winger Madison Brazendale has been rewarded for her standout 2024 campaign with a new two-year contract extension.
Already contracted for 2025, the new deal will see Brazendale remain in orange and charcoal until at least the end of the 2027 NAB AFLW season.
The new deal comes following a career-best season for the 176cm winger, with Brazendale finishing sixth in the club champion award, the Gabrielle Trainor Medal, in 2024.
One of the club’s best endurance athletes, Brazendale played in all 11 games in 2024 where her workrate and her commitment to helping out her backline were huge assets.
Originally taken with pick 75 in the 2022 Draft, Brazendale made an immediate impact at the GIANTS as she took out the club’s 2022 Rising Star award for her brilliant debut season.
While an ankle injury restricted her to just three games in her second season, the 21-year-old put forward a breakout 2024 campaign to establish herself as a key piece of coach Cam Bernasconi’s side.
GIANTS Executive General Manager of AFLW and Football Operations, Alison Zell, said the club is thrilled to secure Brazendale for a further two seasons.
“We’re delighted to have Madi re-sign for another two seasons on top of the upcoming 2025 season,” Zell said.
“Since drafting her back in 2022 she’s shown a great appetite to work on her game and be the best footballer she can be and it was fantastic to see her hard work rewarded with a breakout 2024 season.
“Madi has become a really valuable player for us and still has so much potential and we’re really excited to see what she can produce over the next three years as we continue to strive towards sustained team success.”
