GIANTS vice-captain, Stephen Coniglio, will be a test for this Sunday’s Gather Round fixture at Norwood Oval in South Australia.
The star midfielder presented with glute irritation on Saturday, following the club’s captain run and was late out for Sunday’s 81-point win over the Eagles.
The 31-year-old will continue to be assessed throughout the week and will need to get through Friday’s main training in order to be available for Sunday’s clash with the Saints.
Brent Daniels will also be given until Friday to prove his fitness as he manages an abdominal strain.
The classy small forward was subbed out in the third quarter of Sunday’s round four win with general soreness, with assessment later revealing the abdominal strain.
Phoenix Gothard has returned to full training following his finger injury and is expected to return through the VFL next weekend following the competition-wide bye this week.
Meanwhile, Ryan Angwin (ankle) and Josh Fahey (foot) are closing in on their returns following injuries in the pre-season.
The GIANTS will take on the Saints at Norwood Oval this Sunday, as part of the AFL’s third Gather Round fixture.
