Four-time Hawthorn Premiership great Luke Hodge will headline the GIANTS’ Hope Estate 2017 Toyota AFL Grand Final Lunch in Sydney on September 27.
The number one draft pick in the 2001 ‘Superdraft’, Hodge boasts an almost-incomparable resume as a four-time premiership player, three-time premiership captain and a two-time Norm Smith Medallist.
The recent retiree, who will play his 305th and final game this weekend, will share his Grand Final experiences ahead of the biggest game of the year.
He will be joined by former Sydney Swans legend Michael O’Loughlin, who will also headline the GIANTS’ 2017 Toyota AFL Grand Final Lunch, presented by Projects Assured, in Canberra the following day.
Pick 40 in the 1994 AFL National Draft, tremendous agility, pace, panache and aerial prowess combined to make O’Loughlin one of the AFL’s most exciting talents of the 2000s.
He retired at the end of 2009 as the then all-time Swans games record holder with 303 to his name. He was the only Swan to play in both the 1996 Grand Final loss and the 2005 drought-breaking triumph.
Both the Sydney and Canberra lunches will be hosted by Channel 7’s Jim Wilson with the Sydney lunch to also feature author and sports commentator Mick Colliss.
The Sydney lunch will be presented by Hope Estate and held on Wednesday, September 27 at 12pm at The Westin in Sydney’s CBD.
The Canberra lunch, presented by Projects Assured, will be held the following day on Thursday, September 28 at the National Arboretum Canberra.
