The GIANTS have named a near full-strength squad for their final JLT Community Series match against North Melbourne in Canberra on Friday night.
Dylan Shiel will captain the GIANTS in their first home game for the year in the nation’s capital, with all GIANTS members receiving free entry for the 5:50pm clash.
The robust midfielder becomes the GIANTS’ third captain of pre-season competition following in the footsteps of Josh Kelly and Devon Smith.
Despite Shiel taking the reins, co-captains Callan Ward and Phil Davis – who yesterday were named to lead the club for the sixth straight season - are part of the 27-man squad to take on the Kangaroos.
Dashing defender Nathan Wilson will play his second game of the pre-season, having sat out last weekend’s 12-point loss to the Swans at a wet Blacktown International Sportspark.
Midfielder Tendai Mzungu and Sam Reid are also both in line to play after being named on an extended interchange.
Forward Daniel Lloyd and young midfielder Will Setterfield will miss the trip to Canberra after both played the opening two pre-season matches.
The final team of 24 to take on the Kangaroos will be named on Friday evening.
