Matt de Boer is usually the man doing the targeting, but the GIANTS stopper expects to be in the Richmond crosshairs in Saturday's Grand Final.
De Boer has been a finals star for the GIANTS, slowing down Marcus Bontempelli, Lachie Neale and Scott Pendlebury with superb shutdown roles in their three victories.
On Saturday, the 29-year-old is expected to tag superstar Dustin Martin and he expects plenty of attention from the Tiger's teammates.
"It's a Grand Final and I welcome any attention," de Boer said at Friday's parade.
"If they're worried about me, Josh Kelly will be running amok.
"We'll see what happens."
De Boer got the best of Martin when they matched up in round three, restricting him to just 15 disposals.
It was the same game in which Martin let the frustrations get the better of him, lashing out at Adam Kennedy and copping a one-match suspension.
De Boer said he wouldn't necessarily run-with Martin the entire game, and possibly not at all if he drifted forward.
"It's just a team approach," he said.
"I'll spend moments on him no doubt, but there's plenty of handovers throughout the game. It'll be a team approach.
"At the centre-square bounce it'll be on right from the get-go and we'll see what happens.
"If it's Dusty or Dion Prestia or whoever else is rolling through, we stick to our structures and we don't get compromised by what they do."
The former Docker put his tagging success down to being mentally and physically prepared, saying he spoke to coach Leon Cameron and midfield mentor Lenny Hayes early each week to discuss his assignments.
"You play on various types, all with fantastic strengths, so I've got to get myself physically and mentally ready to take anyone on.
"I've got to trust my teammates and they've got to trust me as well."
