Let’s be honest… there is a bit of 'us against the world' this week.
The GIANTS are the youngest club in the AFL and proud to be standing tall for the people of Western Sydney and Canberra.
In case you’ve been living under a rock, the GIANTS are into our fourth-straight finals campaign and we’re pretty happy to be the only club to win a game in September every season across these four years.
The Orange Army is growing and we have loved our passionate supporter base reaching 30,000 members this year.
But this week, we face a huge challenge as we take on the biggest club in the country in Collingwood and their black and white army.
A team that has racked up a pretty handy 127-year history. They were 119 years old when we entered the comp!
Anyone who remotely follows footy knows that the Magpies aren’t everyone’s cup of tea and over the years have developed a reputation of rubbing people up the wrong way.
So, what if you’re one of the millions of people who love to hate Collingwood?
We’ve got something that might interest you - you can help the GIANTS turn Melbourne Orange … because remember, Orange is the new Black and White.
If your team is already out of the contention for the flag and are preparing for 2020 already, we need your support!
That’s right – we’re not asking you to burn your old jumper, just put it up the rack for Saturday and wear orange at the 'G.
We’ll even help you along – get along to our pre-game function at the Imperial Hotel from 1.30pm and the first 100 people that arrive with a membership card of an opposition AFL club (and with a valid ticket for Saturday’s game) will receive a free piece of GIANTS merch and a free beer*.
Remember, Orange is the New Black and White in Melbourne this week so make sure you’re on board.
