GIANTS coach Leon Cameron is confident Josh Kelly wants to stay at the club and praised the star midfielder's focus amid constant speculation over his future.
Kelly racked up a club record 43 touches against the Eagles who struggled to contain the midfielder's ability to find the footy and use it effectively, to go along with eight clearances, and finished off his work by nailing the last goal of the game to seal the GIANTS' 21-point win.
The youngster's contract status beyond 2017 has been a talking point all season, and Cameron said the focus the 22-year-old has shown despite the speculation over his future has been outstanding.
"He's had a huge year and that’s why we value him so much," he said.
"We understand where he's at in terms of the contract, he's wanted by us, and I have no doubt he wants to stay at our footy club.
"On the back of those sort of performances you understand why other clubs are looking at him because he a pretty good god damn player."
Cameron praised the star onballer, who has always been lauded for his class, but showed plenty of toughness by returning to the field in the last term after being crunched by Eagles forward Josh Kennedy.
"He wants to win for our footy club and he had a massive game," Cameron said.
"I think having (Stephen) Coniglio and (Jacob) Hopper come back into the team (from injury) really helps Josh and Dylan Shiel.
"It allows them to use their legs and ability get out on the outside, and his last three weeks have been particularly good.
"We love him as a footy player, clearly we can see what he can do, and today was a standout performance from him."
The GIANTS sprung a surprise by using key defender Aidan Corr, rather than co-captain Phil Davis, on dual Coleman medal winner Josh Kennedy.
The pair had a fantastic duel, and Cameron said he was pleased with Corr's job, despite the Eagle finishing with four goals.
"Aidan is really growing as a player and his last probably 10 quarters have really shown us that he can play in that full-back spot, so it gives us flexibility with Phil," he said.
"Phil's ability to read the play and chop out really helped us again, I though he was terrific.
"It was a bit of a flip of the coin, but what it does give us is an option, and those two are really working well together."
