Annise Bradfield will make her long-awaited GIANTS debut on Sunday as one of two changes for the club’s clash with the Eagles at Henson Park.
Set to become the seventh new face to take the field for the club this season, Bradfield’s inclusion in Sunday’s side comes more than 700 days since her last appearance at AFLW level.
Joining the club ahead of the 2023 season after three years with the Gold Coast Suns, Bradfield was forced to watch her entire debut season at the GIANTS from the sidelines after requiring season-ending surgery on a Lisfranc injury suffered during the pre-season.
Sunday’s match with the Eagles will be the 21-year-old midfielder’s first AFLW game in 735 days, marking almost exactly two years to the weekend that she last took the field during one of five games played for the Suns.
Joining her in Sunday’s team is ruck Fleur Davies who will play her first game of the season after having played in nine of the club’s 10 games last year.
Coming out of last week’s side is Mikayla Pauga who will miss the next two games via suspension, as well as winger Meghan Gaffney who has been omitted.
The GIANTS and the Eagles will face off at Henson Park for the first time on Sunday at 3:05pm.
