WELCOME GAME:

Festival starting from 5:30pm outside ENGIE Stadium

The GIANTS will celebrate the diverse communities of Western Sydney and welcome new audiences to Australian Rules football when the club hosts Welcome Game against Carlton.

The GIANTS’ Welcome Game features a pre-game multicultural festival that will celebrate and spotlight the incredible diversity of the Western Sydney community and the contributions they’ve made to our great game.

Featuring a range of cultural performances, music, food and entertainment across the game day, Welcome Game will showcase the rich cultural diversity of Western Sydney and bring together new and existing fans to experience Australian Rules football. 

Our Welcome Game multicultural festival commences at 5:30pm just outside of ENGIE Stadium, featuring performances including Aus Breaking, dragon and lion dancing, African beat drummers and more. There will also be workshops, Henna, facepainting, a Sydney Thunder cricket activation, and a jumping castle. We will have some of our non-playing players completing signing sessions around the festival. Get down early so you don't miss out.

2024 INDIGENOUS JUMPER 

The GIANTS will proudly wear our 2024 Indigenous jumper against the Blues on Saturday as we celebrate Welcome Game and in the lead up to NAIDOC week, which begins on Sunday.

GIANTS FAN ZONE

Make a big big sound in the GIANTS Fan Zone next to the scoreboard inside ENGIE Stadium on Saturday where there’ll be inflatables, free rides for our GIANTS fans, a mechanical footy and swinging chairs, everyone’s favourite mascots G-MAN and GiGi, and heaps of GIANTS giveaways. Harvey Norman, Toyo Tires, Reflections Holidays and Nova will also be on hand with fun activations to try!

GETTING TO ENGIE STADIUM

Fans are encouraged to plan their trip and consider all public transport options ahead of time for Saturday’s Welcome Game.

If you’re driving, we advise pre-booking your parking online, available until 11:59pm the night before the game. The best parking for ENGIE Stadium is the P1 and P6 car parks.

KICK A GOAL, PLANT A TREE

Capital Brewing Co has partnered with the GIANTS to launch the fourth year of their Trees for Tomorrow initiative in partnership with Jindabyne-based environmental charity Keep it Cool.

The 'Kick A Goal, Plant A Tree' program has Capital Brewing Co working hand in hand with the GIANTS, committing to plant a native Australian tree for every goal kicked by the GIANTS’ AFL and AFLW teams throughout the 2024 season.

TEAM SELECTION

The GIANTS will name their team for round 17 on Thursday at 6:20pm at gwsgiants.com.au.

The VFL team will be named at 12:20pm on Friday at gwsgiants.com.au.

BROADCAST

Saturday’s match will be shown live and free on Channel 7 from 7pm nationally, as well as on Fox Footy and Kayo.
