James Peatling has been included in the GIANTS’ side to fly west to take on the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
After 10 AFL games last season, the small forward – who can also play through the midfield – comes into the side for his first game of the season.
Last week’s substitute, 200-gamer Nick Haynes, will remain in Sydney for the birth of his and wife Rebecca’s first child.
“We know going over there is a tough challenge,” coach Adam Kinglsey said.
“Our record over there hasn’t been great ... it’s a beautiful ground to play at but one we haven’t done all that well, so we need to rectify that.
“We’re really keen to get over there and try and fix that.”
Sunday’s match will be shown live on Fox Footy and Kayo nationally from 6:30pm EDT as well as live and free on 7mate from 6:30pm EDT in NSW and the ACT.
The substitute will be named from the 23-man team 60 minutes before the first bounce.
The Orange Army is also invited to join GIANTS ambassador Alex Williams and his sidekick Brandon McClelland on Sunday at Silverwater Hotel in Western Sydney to cheer on the GIANTS in their away clash - click here for more.
