The Greater Western Sydney GIANTS have today received St Kilda’s 2017 future second round pick in exchange for midfielder Jack Steele.

Steele played 17 games for the GIANTS in two seasons at the club, after being selected in the 2014 NAB AFL Draft as a GIANTS Academy selection with pick 24.

The 20-year-old was hampered by injury in 2016, playing 10 games before breaking his hand in the GIANTS' round 17 win over the Brisbane Lions.

GIANTS General Manager Football Wayne Campbell said: “Jack wanted to explore other opportunities and we feel this trade satisfies everyone involved.

“While disappointed that Jack is moving on, this trade puts us in a strong position for the 2017 draft to continue to bring in the best talent to our football club.

“We thank Jack for his contribution over the past two seasons and wish him all the best for the rest of his career."

The GIANTS currently hold picks 2, 15, 31, 37, 51, 55, 60 and 109 at next month’s NAB AFL Draft in Sydney in addition to a second round pick in the 2017 NAB AFL Draft.
