The GIANTS have added six players to their 26-man squad to take on the Power at Adelaide Oval on Sunday afternoon.
Local South Australian Jacob Wehr, forward Conor Stone, ruck Matt Flynn, half-back Josh Fahey, untried forward Toby McMullin, and last week’s sub, Ryan Angwin, have all been named in the extended squad.
Small forward duo Brent Daniels and Toby Bedford who will both miss the clash due to respective one-match suspensions.
As well as Angwin, who performed well in the final quarter against the Swans after starting as the sub, coach Adam Kingsley has added five other names who impressed at VFL level over the weekend.
Fahey (26 disposals, six marks) continued his strong VFL form across both the wing and halfback in the loss to the Swans, while Wehr (23 possessions, seven marks) also found plenty of the ball to do his chances of a recall no harm.
Flynn impressed in the same game with 14 disposals, two goals, and 13 hit-outs while playing more as a forward.
Stone (12 disposals, two goals) was also a strong contributor up forward while medium-sized forward/midfielder McMullin could play his first game at AFL level with the 19-year old impressing in the VFL as both a small pressure forward and as a midfielder.
Rising star Finn Callaghan has been left out of Sunday’s squad after being a late withdrawal against the Swans due to achilles soreness in the warm-up.
The GIANTS will name their final team on Friday at 5pm.
