The tiny town of Collingullie in southern NSW has bred it’s second AFL player with last year’s number 14 pick Harry Perryman to make his debut against the Tigers at Spotless Stadium on Saturday.
A GIANTS Academy product, Perryman arrived at the club in the 2016 NAB AFL Draft and has impressed at NEAFL level with his class and poise.
His promotion comes off the back of a 40-disposal game against Aspley last weekend that also included seven marks, four tackles and a goal.
Perryman follows in the footsteps of good friend and fellow Collingullie product Matt Kennedy who was drafted to the club the season before Perryman and has played eight senior games.
A quality player who moves like a natural footballer, Perryman isn't quick but twists and turns his way out of trouble and rarely gets caught.
Perryman has a background playing as a half-back, but has also spent time in the midfield where his strengths have come to the fore.
He’s equally as clever and classy on both feet, and knows where the goals are. He plays in an unflustered and uncomplicated manner but always seems to make the right decision when in possession.
Perryman is the club’s third debutant of the season after number two pick and this week’s NAB AFL Rising Star nominee Tim Taranto in round one and former rookie Daniel Lloyd in round eight.
