GIANT Pre-season Underway
The holidays are over and the GIANTS players are back to work as they prepare for a big 2014.
Most of the GIANTS playing list returned to the club on Wednesday as pre-season kicked with physio assessments, medial screenings and boxing and agility sessions.
All first to fourth-year players returned to the club after eight weeks of holidays following the final game of the 2013 season on September 1. The more experienced players will begin their pre-season campaign over the coming weeks.
The first big test of the pre-season will be this Saturday when the players run a 3km time trial at Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre.
It follows a successful trade period for the GIANTS with premiership stars Heath Shaw, Shane Mumford and Josh Hunt joining the club.
All three featured in the 2013 Toyota AFL Final Series and will begin training with their new teammates later this month.
There will be plenty of new faces around the GIANTS with NSW Zone Selection and Slater & Gordon GIANTS Academy graduate
Jake Barrett to join the club, as well as several new draftees after the NAB AFL Draft on November 21.
The GIANTS hold picks 1, 2, 14, 29, 48, 76, 78, 93 and 111.
The players will train five days a week for the next seven weeks in the lead up to Christmas.
