The final numbers are in! 32,614 members joined the Big Big Sound in 2022, breaking the GIANTS’ all-time membership record of 30,841.
In the club’s 11th season, the club has topped 30,000 members for the fourth season in a row and reached new heights in season 2022.
GIANTS CEO David Matthews has thanked the club’s vocal members from Sydney, Canberra and across the country for their support.
“On behalf of our players and staff I would like to thank all of our GIANTS members for their support, loyalty and passion,” Mr Matthews said.
“We are a young and proud club, and to have more than 32,000 members sign up this season is testament to the commitment of our fans and supporters and the connection we have across the broader NSW and the ACT communities.
“While we have faced some unique headwinds in 2022, as a club there are so many things to be proud of and to look forward to.
“Thank you to the 25,572 fans and GIANTS members who joined us for our second ever largest home crowd, as part of our round one Sydney Derby clash against the Swans.
“To the Canberra fans who continued to turn out in droves at Manuka Oval, which included two sell outs; and to all the members who attended member functions and signing sessions after our final two home games in both Sydney and Canberra – it has been wonderful to have our players interacting in person with our extended GIANTS family again.
“Our members are the lifeblood of this club, and we thank you all for your unwavering support."
The new milestone is not the only exciting announcement the GIANTS made today, with several members of the Orange Army receiving a call that they would be taking home some special prizes thanks to the GIANTS’ partners.
To help celebrate the massive milestone in 2022, all GIANTS members went into the draw for ‘The Road to 31,500-members’ competition.
