The GIANTS will be bolstered by the return of five big names, along with the inclusion of debutant Leek Aleer, as they get set to take on the Swans at the SCG on Saturday afternoon.
Co-captain Josh Kelly will return to the side after clearing the concussion protocols that forced him to miss last week’s clash with Carlton.
Key forward Jesse Hogan and young midfielder Tom Green both return after being managed for the round 19 match.
Star midfielder and two-time Kevin Sheedy Medallist Lachie Whitfield comes back in after missing the past two matches with a hip flexor injury.
Important utility Harry Perryman also returns after missing six weeks with four broken ribs suffered in round 13.
Along with five big-name inclusions, high-flying athletic defender Leek Aleer will make his AFL debut.
The GIANTS took Aleer with pick 15 in last year’s NAB AFL Draft and along with Mac Andrew, who went to the Suns at pick five, they became the first two players with South Sudanese heritage to be selected in the first round.
Aleer has played 11 VFL games this year, impressing with his big marks and developing his traits as a key defender.
In his return from a calf injury two weeks ago, he had 16 disposals, nine marks and seven tackles.
The GIANTS take on the Swans at the SCG on Saturday at 2:10pm in Sydney Derby XXIV.
The two teams will face off for the Lifeline Cup and the player adjudged best on ground will be awarded the Brett Kirk Medal.
