The GIANTS have provided the latest updates on their injury list ahead of their round 13 clash against North Melbourne on Sunday at Marvel Stadium.

Callan Ward and Lachie Whitfield are tests to take on the Kangaroos with Ward to go through the final stages of the concussion protocols after being subbed out of the round 11 match against the Lions.

Whitfield has been managing an ongoing ankle injury but is expected to train fully on Friday and put his hand up for selection.

Star defender Phil Davis is nearing a return from his long-term hamstring injury after returning to full training on the weekend.

Tim Taranto is managing an ongoing back issue and missed the past two matches against the Eagles and Lions. He will be unavailable for Sunday’s match but has resumed running and could return as early as next week.

Jacob Hopper will consult a knee specialist this week to clear him to return to full training as he nears a return from back-to-back knee injuries.

Brent Daniels and Conor Stone are continuing their rehab from hamstring injuries and both will be unavailable for the next month.

Young defender Leek Aleer injured his calf in the last VFL match and will miss the next 4-5 weeks.

Jack Buckley is continuing his rehab from his long-term ACL injury and expected to return in the final rounds of the season.

Forward Daniel Lloyd will consult a specialist in two weeks as he continues his rehab from a fractured arm with a timeline on his return to be provided following the appointment.

Young draftee Finn Callaghan is also managing a flare up of an ongoing foot injury and will consult further specialists in Melbourne this week. He’ll be sidelined for at least a month with a further timeline to be provided following the appointment.

Forward Bobby Hill has undergone successful surgery after being diagnosed with testicular cancer. The 22-year-old will undergo further assessment in the following weeks and will be sidelined indefinitely.

Josh Fahey has also undergone successful shoulder surgery but will miss the rest of the season.
