All Australian defender Nick Haynes has recovered from an ankle injury suffered in round three to return to the backline.
Young ruck Matt Flynn will take over from Braydon Preuss as he serves a one-match suspension for striking.
As announced earlier on Thursday, last year’s pick number three Finn Callaghan will make his AFL debut.
Also into the side is the medi-sub from the past two weeks, Adam Kennedy.
GIANTS coach Leon Cameron said:
“There’s no bigger test than facing the reigning Premiers at their home ground.
“They’ve clearly been in some terrific form and it’s going to be a huge challenge, but it’s one we’re looking forward to.
“Matt will come back in to take up the ruck mantle. He had a great pre-season and showed some really good form in the early parts of the year so we’re looking forward to seeing what he can do.
“Nick is ready to go after a week out with that ankle. We know what a quality player he is and he’s a really important part of our side.
“We welcome Adam back after an interrupted start to his year but we know he offers great run for us when he’s up and going.
“It’s great to be able to give Finn his opportunity too. He’s settled into the club really well and now he’s had a good block of training under his belt, we’ve been able to see what he’s capable of.
“He’s had a number of strong performances in the VFL, he’s doing everything we’ve asked and he’s ready to go so it’s going to be really exciting for him on Saturday night.”
Out of the side are Preuss (suspension), Jake Riccardi, Xavier O’Halloran and James Peatling (omitted).
The GIANTS face the Demons this Saturday at the MCG at 7:25pm with live coverage on 7mate in NSW and the ACT and channel 7 nationally as well as Fox Footy and Kayo.
