Player Bio Drafted from the GIANTS Academy, Matthew Kennedy is a medium forward/midfielder who is a prolific ball-winner and strong overhead. He missed national championships because of injury but was in outstanding form for the Rams in the TAC Cup. Has overcome his knee injury and returned to play for Collingullie late in the season. Kennedy made a splash in the AFL, kicking three goals on debut in round 13 against Essendon. The Academy product showed glimpses of his talent in three senior games last year and is another of the GIANTS' emerging stars ready for a more significant role in 2017. Kennedy averaged 27 touches in 13 NEAFL games last year as an on-baller and will look to make his mark as a forward in the senior team this year, with bursts in the midfield as he gains more experience. Like Jacob Hopper, he loves the hard ball and shows great ability around the goals.PLAYER PARTNER Another classy midfielder to come through the GIANTS' Academy system, Kennedy turned heads with his 14.12 beep test at last year's Draft Combine. He developed later than most and starred for his hometown club Collingullie in the seniors, after missing last year's NAB AFL Under-18 Championships with injury. Will play senior football this season.Twitter @Matt_Kennedy15At a Glance Junior Clubs: Collingullie Debut: 2016 Recruited From: Collingullie-Glenfield Park Brownlow Votes: - Community Ambassador: Wollondilly & Southern NSW (Collingullie-Glenfield Park, Lockhart, Osborne, East Wagga Kooringal, Wagga Tigers)
