The Greater Western Sydney GIANTS made a special visit to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead as part of the club’s GENTLE GIANTS program.

Twenty GIANTS players were joined by the Easter Bunny to deliver Cadbury Bunnies to children who will be in hospital over Easter.

Cadbury is donating more than 2.5 million Easter eggs to hunger relief organisation, Foodbank, to distribute to not for profit groups around the nation in the hope that every Australian family has the opportunity to share in the joy of Easter.

GIANTS player Rhys Palmer said that he was grateful to Westmead and Cadbury for giving them the opportunity to deliver the eggs to the kids today.

“It was really good this morning but seeing all these kids going through a tough time really puts your life in perspective.

“It’s the least we can do to get around to the kids and put a smile on their faces hopefully for the day.

“It reminds us how lucky we are to be just walking around everyday while these kids are in a hospital and a lot of them are fighting for their lives.”

Rhys was one of a number of players who sported bunny ears while delivering eggs today.

“As long as the kids are smiling and laughing away it’s worth it.”
