The GIANTS today welcomed some of the stars of the AFL to Western Sydney to celebrate Australia Day with fans at Blacktown International Sportspark.

Hundreds of families mingled with their heroes, with GIANTS player Israel Folau and Tom Scully on hand to sign autographs and run a clinic with children.

Folau was just as excited as the fans about the roll call of AFL talent, which included Sydney Swans' Adam Goodes, Collingwood's Dale Thomas, West Coast's Nic Naitanui, Essendon's Jobe Watson and Hawthorn's Sam Mitchell.

"I was pretty nervous driving in this morning thinking about the all the different players coming in," said Folau.

Folau is expected to be named for the GIANTS first NAB Cup games against Collingwood and the Western Bulldogs on Saturday, February 18 at BISP.

"It's going to be really tough. NAB cup is only around the corner and that's going to be a real test for myself as to how far I've come and where I need to get to," said Folau.

"At the moment I'm feeling really confident about my training and going into the games. Now I've just got to test myself and see how I go.

"Physically I feel pretty good, I feel like I'm in good nick. It helps when you've done a pre-season up to AFL standards."

The addition of senior players Chad Cornes, Dean Brogan and Luke Power has been a great help to the former rugby league star as he continues to learn the game.

"It's really helped me with my training and getting my knowledge of the game up to scratch," said Folau.

"It's up to me now to go out there on the ground."
