High-flying defender Nick Haynes will return to the GIANTS side for their blockbuster clash against Collingwood at the MCG on Sunday.
The GIANTS have made just one change to the side that will face Collingwood in a blockbuster clash at the MCG on Sunday afternoon.
“Haynes is an important player for us whether he plays on smalls or talls,” Cameron said.
“He’s had a really, really good year - a consistent year - he rates really highly amongst his peers because of his bravery in the air.
“He’s really keen to get back in ... We feel as though he’s ready to go and look forward to him contributing on the weekend.”
23-year-old Haynes missed last week’s win over Brisbane with a minor groin injury but before that had played every game of the 2015 season, cementing his spot in the GIANTS’ backline.
Aidan Corr has been omitted from the team and joins defender Zac Williams and ruckman Andrew Phillips as the emergencies.
The fifth-placed GIANTS take on the fourth-placed Magpies in one of the biggest games in the club’s history with an eighth win and a spot in the top four up for grabs.
Cameron said it’s going to be a blockbuster match with pivotal match-ups all over the ground.
“They’ve got a very potent forward line. When the ball goes inside their forward line, they’re very capable of scoring really quickly,” he said.
“Their midfield is stacked with a huge amount of talent ... and their backline play great one-on-one defence so there’s going to be some great match-ups.
“Whether it be Jeremy Cameron and Brown or Cameron and Frost or McCarthy and Brown. Pendlebury and Griffen, Mumford and Grundy - all over the ground there’s going to be some fantastic duels.”
The GIANTS take on Collingwood at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday afternoon. The game will be live on 7mate and Fox Footy from 1pm.
