The GIANTS are pleased to announce Briana Harvey has been appointed to the newly-created position of Head of Academies and AFLW.
The appointment follows a restructure of the programs, which will see Harvey oversee the GIANTS' AFL and AFLW Academies, and AFLW and VFLW programs.
Harvey joins the GIANTS having most recently worked in Academy and Women’s football roles at the Sydney Swans and Hawthorn Football Clubs.
Prior to her roles at AFL clubs, Harvey was the High Performance Manager for the AFL’s Umpiring department and has extensive experience working with elite athletes at the New South Wales Institute of Sport and Hockey Victoria.
GIANTS General Manager Football Wayne Campbell said Harvey is a terrific addition to the football department.
“Briana is highly regarded in the industry and joins the club with a wealth of experience from across the AFL system and more broadly in high-performance sporting environments,” said Campbell.
“Her experience in recruiting, player retention and running academies programs will be invaluable as we continue to grow as a club.
“Brianna comes to the club at an important time as we begin our VFLW program and further develop our Academy.”
Meanwhile, the GIANTS would like to thank AFLW Manager Libby Sadler, who is set to embark on a new role at Sports NSW after three years at the club.
“Libby has played a key role in the establishment of our AFLW program and we thank her for her tireless work in creating the strong culture we’ve developed in the program,” Campbell said.
“Libby will always be a friend of the GIANTS and we wish her well in her new role.”
