The UWS GIANTS make a tough trip to Darwin to face off with NT Thunder, with both sides looking to stake a claim in finals positions in their respective NEAFL conferences.
The GIANTS are coming off a win over the Hills Eagles last week, where they opened up to an early lead, before letting the Eagles back in the game in the second half.
Sam Reid is a big out for the GIANTS, having kicked seven goals in the last two games, with three in last weeks win, and has been combining well with Mark Whiley, who showed last week that he can kick goals as well as provide support to the forward line.
Nick Haynes has been playing well in the GIANTS backline over the last two games, and will be looking to repeat that performance to shut down a Thunder side looking to pick up fifth place in their conference.
The win last round ended their three game losing streak, and the Giants will be looking to back up their victory with another, although they haven’t had much luck against any of their counterparts from up North this season.
A win over the Thunder will see the GIANTS in the top 5, albeit having played an extra game than the other contenders.
